321 Stainless Round Bar Stock

321 stainless round bar stock is a titanium stabilized austenitic steel that has improved resistance towards intergranular corrosion.

Non-magnetic and heat resistant 321 stainless round bar stock

321 stainless round bar stock is a titanium stabilized austenitic steel that has improved resistance towards intergranular corrosion. It is suitable for high-temperature applications of up to 1500F as the addition of titanium stabilizes 321 stainless bar stock against chromium carbide formation. 321 stainless bar stock has higher creep and stress rupture properties which in turn makes it the ideal steel for pressure vessels and boiler applications. This type of steel is non-magnetic and heat resistant, allowing for continuous service at elevated temperatures. Although this steel cannot be hardened through heat treatment you can use cold working to harden it. 321 Stainless steel is easily welded through all standard methods and post-weld annealing is not a requirement. This steel has excellent corrosion resistance, especially against dilute organic acids but it is not suitable for chloride solutions as it then becomes susceptible to crevice and pitting corrosion.
